Features

transfer, arrival settlements, orientations, counseling,
and all necessary assistance regarding student life and
learning, enabling students to begin with a most

are combined with a variety of cultural activities and
visits, the one-on-one exchange partner program,

Application requirements

Application Form.

Aged 16 or above.

A recommendation
letter (preferably written by your teacher, or your
supervisor at workplace).

A copy of your graduation
certificate.

An authorized physical
examination report of the last three months with a
result of chest X-ray and HIV test.

A financial certificate
of the last three months with a minimum amount of
US$2,500 or NT$85,000.

A photocopy of passport.

Registration
The student is required to complete registration process in person
within two weeks prior to the initiation of the course.
Other means of registration or fee of payment is
unacceptable. There are three steps for the registration:
1.
Enrolment: the student is
requited to submit the Admission Letter, passport and visa
when filling in the Registration Form.
2.
Placement: a placement
test will then be given to the student for class
allocation.
Payment: tuition is paid in cash with NT dollars upon
registration. Refund is subject to our Refund Policy
should the student wish to cancel or drop out of the
course.

Courses
The CCLP designs its courses into two
categories: the language programs and the credit program.
Language Programs:
The language programs offer Chinese language learning courses in
three levels: beginners, intermediate, and advanced.
Students are placed into different level according to
their language commands. Each class has 7 to 10 students.
Students attend classes 10 hours per week; each term has
12 weeks.
Beginners¡XThe course is designed for those who have
never learned Chinese. It contains: alphabetical
pronunciation, intonations, basic communication skills,
basic Chinese characters, etc. Students are expected to
communicate with local people with simple conversation and
to read simple articles upon the completion of this
course.
Intermediate¡XStudents
at this level are given a wider exposures to their
listening, speaking, reading and writing, and more
emphases are given on expressions, terminological use, and
more complicate conversation. Students are expected to be
equipped with a more profound communication skills, able
to read newspaper articles, magazines, understand TV and
radio programs, as well as to write short essays and
reports.
Advanced¡XRegular
reading, including ancient Chinese philosophical books and
literature are introduced at this level. Students are
trained in a more sophisticated approach in oral
expressions and writings and eventually become a fluent
language user.
Credit program:
Individual students and exchange students coming from our
partner universities may take this program, which contains
credit-awarding courses in Chinese language learning and
Taiwanese cultural, social, and business-related courses.
Apart from the language courses, all other courses are
lectured in English or Japanese. Each semester lasts for
18 weeks. Each weeks has 15 class hours.

Scholarships
The Ministry of Education in Taiwan and Aletheia
University provide partial scholarships for language
students and exchange students. Please contact
International Office for information.

Visas
Student should apply for a tourist visa from his/her
nearest Taiwan¡¦s embassy or representative office. A
tourist visa allows a student to stay for maximum 60 days,
and is subject to extend the visit twice, to up to 180
days. For longer stay the University will provide
assistance in helping student obtain a residential
permit. A landing visa is not acceptable.
