Objectives
Students of this department are expected to
develop logical thinking abilities and lay a
solid foundation in professional and applied
mathematics.
Curricular Focus
Various courses of mathematical systems from the
basic ones to the professional ones of algebra,
analysis, and geometry, are introduced with
their inter-relationships. When teaching applied
mathematics, it is important that students will
understand the underlying theory, and the
purpose is for students to appreciate the
importance of fundamental mathematics.
Application
Students attend lectures or seminars of related
areas, or pursue minors in other departments
including Department of Finance & Economics,
Computer Science, Actuarial Mathematics, and
Economics. |
