Objectives

         The goals of the curriculum of general education are:

1. to educate individuals with humble, humorous, and humane characteristics,

2. to cultivate critical and independent thinking abilities,

3. to develop self-learning abilities, and

4. to provide a global perspective.

Curricular Focus

 To cultivate students with the above abilities and characteristics, we have divided our coursework into general requirements and categorized electives.  Course descriptions are as follows:

1. Humanity and Art; Life and Law: are to educate students with 3H characteristics.

2. Introduction to Logic; Social Analysis; Economic Analysis; Historical Research Methodology: are to develop students¡¦ critical and independent thinking abilities.

3. Research Methodology; Computer & Applications; Management: are to promote students¡¦ self-learning abilities.

4. Foreign Languages courses; electives of B-category: are to provide students with a global perspective.

Additionally, we have furnished the following electives to fill in any gap of insufficiency among general required courses: Category A¡Xthoughts, arts; Category B¡Xglobe, geography; Category C¡Xsociety, systems; Category D¡Xhumans, environment; Category E¡Xmaterial, life; Category F: mathematics, information.

Application

   General education provides students with general knowledge and develops self-learning abilities through a highly motivating atmosphere, rather than digging into the learning of a certain field.  Upon completion of the curriculum, students are well - equipped to make continual improvement to keep firm standing in an ever-changing society.
