Objectives

Following the increasing demand in Taiwan of professionals in the field of sports journalism and sports-related enterprises, and the influx of local/international sports events and information, the need for multi-disciplinary education regarding sports information and communication has significantly emerged.

Curricular Focus

The purpose and design of the program aim at, under the context of sports studies, making students understand their philosophies, communication theories, media and cultural industries, journalisms, up-to-date communication technologies, nature of businesses, and other related studies.

Career Prospective

A student graduated from this Department may work as:

1. an executive of sports communication

2..an executive of sports integrated marketing communication

3. a sports journalist

4. an editor of sports news

5. a web master of sports websites

6. a manager of sports events

Graduates from this Department could further apply to graduate studies related to physical education, sports, leisure and recreational studies, tourism, and management fields.
