Objectives
This program strengthens students¡¦ listening,
speaking, reading, and writing of Japanese, and
develops students¡¦ independent thinking and
presenting abilities. Students not only acquire
a good command of Japanese language, but also
master things related to Japanese literature,
politics/economics, and management. Upon
graduation, they will engage in teaching,
researching, and applied Japanese activities,
bridging the gap between Japanese and Chinese
cultures.
Curricular Focus
Students begin with listening, speaking,
reading, and writing of Japanese during the
first two years and then take professional
courses in Japanese linguistics/ literature/
translation/culture in the last two years of
study.
Career Prospective
We consider students of this program highly
promising with their language proficiency in
this top fifth language in view of Japan¡¦s
significant cultural influence and important
economic role on the world stage. Also, due to
the fact that every year a good number of
students are selected by us to attend exchange
programs and study in Japan, our students are
highly competent in working as translator,
interpreter, simultaneous interpreter,
researcher, or teacher of Japanese languages
upon completion of the program. |
